Let me tell you a bit about myself...
My name is Karen McSherry.
I am married to Dave, our children are Rob & Tom who we are extremely proud of. We also have 4 amazing grandchildren & 2 incredible daughter-in-laws.
Dave runs an Engine Reconditioning Business which we have had for 5 years now.
It is now my turn to do what I love & that is making things.
After being in the baking industry for the past 32 years and having a love of making & crafting things this is my new venture.

Few people realise that most shop bought candles are made with paraffin wax, which is made from the leftover residue of the petroleum refining industry. Burning paraffin wax candles can be very nasty for you & your home. Paraffin candles can let off carcinogens & petrol-carbon soot into the air you breathe, which can also blacken walls & ceilings.

Candles made with soy wax offer a number of unique features;

• cleaner burning - no toxins, carcinogens or pollutants which means it's less likely to trigger allergies. no petrol-carbon soot like you get from petroleum-based paraffin candles.

• longer lasting - soy wax has a low melting point, so it burns cooler which means that you can enjoy your soy wax candle for generally 30-50% longer than a paraffin candle, and it (soy wax candle) gives you a long-lasting candle and a room filling fragrance.

• Soy wax can even be used as a moisturiser. Just rub some of the melted wax into your skin. It feels just like body butter.

• biodegradable and water soluble - since our candles are made from soybeans, they are naturally biodegradable which makes accidental spills easier to clean. Additionally, soy wax is a renewable resource.

• stimulates the economy by utilizing a natural, renewable resource.

• supports NZ made – all products are locally sourced and sustainable

• our soy wax is certified kosher, contains no herbicides or pesticides and is genetically unaltered.

• no lead or zinc cored wicks - ever! all our wicks are made of either cotton or wood.

• Soy wax melts evenly, leaving almost no excess wax on the sides of a jar.

• Soy wax "throws well" meaning that it fills the room with a strong long lasting scent. Not only is the scent stronger but it has a cleaner smell.

PLEASE NOTE: Soy wax candles may produce some soot, but it is non-toxic, unlike the carcinogenic black soot that paraffin candles produce.
